Being Irreproachable

“Then they will deliver you up to be tormented, and they will kill you; and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. At that time many will be scandalized, and will betray one another, and will hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and deceive many. And because iniquity multiplies, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” II Peter 3:13 and 14

In this text we understand that we have something much better promised by God, where righteousness dwells; a new home, eternal life. While we are here, we wait for the time of fulfillment to come, but in the meantime, we must keep the faith, believing in Christ, surrendering our lives to Him, because then He will keep us blameless and unblemished, at peace with God. All this is possible by the power of Christ; our part is always to believe, Christ's part is to work by divine power.

It is striking how being blameless is the basis of the Christian experience, because if it is the power of Christ that dwells in us, then it leads us to perfect obedience. The apostle Paul explores this subject and also talks about it in 1 Corinthians 1:7 and 8 “...waiting for the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.” So, being blameless is not a distant goal to be achieved one day in the Christian life, in the future. Being blameless is the Christian's reality, it's now! When I give myself to Christ, he works this in my life, so the Christian life is a life of moral victory, a life of walking in the law of the Lord, of walking in righteousness. But, remember, this experience is by faith, not by the arm of the flesh, so we have it by believing and keeping 100% of our life surrendered to the Lord. Would you like to continue believing in Christ, surrendering 100% of your will, of your plans to Him?

May it be so, in Jesus' name!

Amen.
